Going abroad this year might not be a risk that many people are willing to take with the movements of countries to amber and red lists, as well as the possibility of quarantine, but in the UK we are lucky to have many beautiful places that are perfect for a staycation this summer!
One of these is the county of Kent – often referred to as the garden of England due to its fields and meadows, where many crops and fruits are grown. There are so many things that you can do in Kent there is a holiday for anyone – whether you want peace and quiet in the countryside or a day at the beach with a bucket and spade, Kent has it all covered.
For Seaside Fun – The place to be is Margate – with traditional amusements, fish and chips and ice creams and of course the beautiful beach, there are plenty of things to do in Margate which will keep families busy for the holiday!
For Beautiful Countryside – If you want to get away from it all and enjoy the countryside there is plenty to see in Kent! The north downs way is a great walk where you can follow the footsteps of the Pilgrims who walked from Canterbury to Winchester to pray for Saint Swithun.
For Iconic Landmarks – There are plenty of these in Kent – walk the White Cliffs of Dover, made famous by the popular wartime song, and of course Canterbury Cathedral is a spectacular building to behold.
