Pneumatic systems are the most efficient way to transport dry bulk materials across long distances in horizontal and vertical piping. They work with industrial air, a pressurised gas that can either be positive (pressure systems) or negative (vacuum systems).

In order to operate efficiently a dilute phase pneumatic system must provide sufficient turbulence to maintain the desired particle concentration in the pipe cross-section. This is difficult to accomplish without causing excessive wear on the piping and the product itself, especially when the material is being conveyed over long distances.
To prevent this wear and degradation, it is necessary to operate the system at a low conveying velocity. This also reduces air consumption and minimises the effects of abrasion on pipeline, bend and diverter contact surfaces. To achieve this velocity, a series of eductors, or diffusers, are used at the beginning and end of the conveying line. When you require a Vacuum conveying System, go to a site such as Vacuum conveying System from Aptech

The system can be designed in a push configuration where the air mover is located prior to the conveying line or in a pull configuration where the air mover is at the conveying line delivery point. The choice of configuration depends on the processing requirements, the availability of plant air and the bulk density of the material to be conveyed. The higher the bulk density of a material, the larger the receivers are required.
